The 2024 UEFA European Championship — Euro 2024 — kicks off on Friday, June 14 when Germany plays Scotland in Munich and then concludes with the final in Berlin on Sunday, July 14.
After a one-off, 11-country, continent-wide event was held in 2021 (postponed a year due to the coronavirus pandemic), the Euro returns to a singular host nation. That nation is Germany, which is hosting the Euros for the second time (1988 — as West Germany — was the previous time).
This also is the third UEFA Euro tournament that will feature 24 teams.
Italy are the defending UEFA Euro champions, having defeated England in a penalty shootout in the final at Wembley Stadium in 2021.
