Chris Hemsworth is bringing the thunder at the 2024 Met Gala.
The "Thor" actor, who is serving as a co-chair of Monday's Met Gala, arrived at the legendary steps of the event looking sharp wearing a simple, off-white Tom Ford suit, opting against a more elaborate look. Joining Hemsworth on the red carpet was his wife, Elsa Pataky.
Hemsworth was tapped in February as co-chair of the 2024 Met Gala, a benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, alongside Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Zendaya. His selection was somewhat of a surprise considering the Marvel actor has never even attended the Met Gala before.
The three other co-chairs have been Met Gala guests multiple times in the past, although Monday's event marks Zendaya's return for the first time since 2019.

Chris Hemsworth jokes Anna Wintour 'made a mistake' by selecting him as co-chair
In an interview with Vanity Fair published last week, Hemsworth, while hooked up to a lie detector, joked that the Met Gala "made a mistake" by selecting him as co-chair and said he doesn't consider himself to be a fashionable person.
He added that he's a "little" nervous about the Met Gala before laughing at an old photo of himself wearing flip-flops at a red carpet event. "Yeah, that's what I'm gonna wear (to the Met Gala)," he said with a laugh. "What am I wearing? I'm wearing flip-flops on a red carpet. Breaking all the rules. Fashion icon."
The dress code for the 2024 Met Gala is "The Garden of Time," which Vogue described by writing, "More modern, less delicate pieces imbued with the same spirit as the spotlit fashions will be showcased alongside them, and broken up into three sub-themes: Land, Sea, and Sky." The theme, meanwhile, is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," referring to fragile items of clothing from the museum.
A video announcing the Met Gala co-chairs in February showed Vogue editor Anna Wintour texting Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Lopez and Hemsworth inviting them to the event, with Hemsworth replying, "Checking schedule now. I can free up that day ;)."
He wrote on Instagram at the time, "Not a bad lineup!! Anyone got a Garden of Time outfit I can borrow?"
Hemsworth's Met Gala appearance comes after he graced the cover of Vanity Fair's May issue.
He stars in the highly anticipated "Mad Max: Fury Road" prequel "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," which hits theaters on May 24.
